Just finished scoring a REALLY fun, wild animated short called “Rocket Friendz” by Josh Weisbrod. It uses the framework of a Pokemon parody to look at big subjects like aging, friendship, and the commodification of nostalgia. And don’t worry, if that sounds too heavy, it also has poop jokes and a surprising amount of animated penises. Josh is super talented, and we clicked really well on the direction the music should take. It was like a tour of pop culture, so it is truly all over the place, definitely the most eclectic score I’ve done.
