Just wrapped up a score for a fantastic short film called the Smother directed by Ben Kadie & written by Ciara Ní Chuirc. This began life as a piece at a Public Assembly show and the core creative team of writer, director & actors all stayed the same, while I was lucky enough to join as composer for the film. The score was quite a challenge to get right, as the film rides a unique in-between tone, at once surreal, scary, romantic and funny. The film will be doing the festival rounds so will be a little while until it makes it’s way online, but for now, check out some screen grabs and excerpts from the score below.
