Curated this month’s edition of Public Assembly (theme: Bodies of Water) with Clara Aranovich & Kap Taylor. Was a complete whirlwind as always—magical, communal, chaotic, inspiring. I was the curator liason for Ciara Ní Chuirc’s play Mona and the Lake, directed by Nitya Vidyasagar, starring Awni Abdi-Bahri, Shalini Bathina & Reshma Gajjar. Mona falls in love with the lake her mother drowned in as her sister Saffy struggles to connect with her. Beautiful piece about the strange forms grief can take, very funny, strong movement elements with a phantasmagorical lake dancer. Incredible to watch this team click instantly into lockstep and pull this together. Very very good vibes on this one. Some pics of the night below, all by Ash Alexander.
